
KENNEWICK, Wash. — The Benton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of an 18-year-old woman Saturday night, Oct. 15.
According to the BCSO, reports of a shooting in the area of State Route 397 in East Kennewick came in to dispatch around 11:42 p.m.
The caller said occupants of two vehicles were involved in an altercation and shots were fired.
It was then reported that one vehicle stopped in the middle of the road while the other continued north toward the cable bridge.
About five minutes later, dispatch received a report that woman was shot while riding in a vehicle. That vehicle was stopped in the area of 1st Ave and Benton St.
Despite life-saving measures performed by first responders, she did not survive.
The woman has been identified as 18-year-old Jatzivy Sarabia.
