X Box CEO Who Cut Thousands, Named to Job Task Force

Posted on by admin

It’s not as ironic as Mark Zuckerberg’s luxury yacht sailing into Seattle the same week 1,400 Meta employees were gassed in Seattle, but it’s close.

X Box CEO Named to Federal Reserve Job Task Force After Job Cuts

Geekwire, and other tech publications have noticed that X Box CEO Asha Sharma has been named to one of five Federal Reserve Boards, whose job is to evaluate and improve the Fed’s operations.

The Federal Reserve, known as “The Fed” oversees and implements US Monetary policies.  Sharma is on the board overseeing employment and productivity.

CEO Gets Roasted by Tech and Gaming Media

Sharma oversees Microsoft’s financially troubled X Box program, and just a few days prior to being named to the Federal board, presided over the 3,200 total X Box cuts (600 in Seattle alone).  The cuts, to be fair, are probably necessary, most tech experts agree. Sources say the gaming platform has never made the kind of money it was intended to, and Microsoft Officials say they are done with “enabling” it instead of it being profitable.

Microsoft is taking it in a different direction. But the irony was not lost on many.

But, still not as glaring as Zuckerberg’s massive yacht gliding into Seattle the week of June 2 just after the Meta cuts.  It was said he was not on board, according to the crew, the vessel was most likely being used as a home base for him and friends during Seattle’s World Cup game.

But either way, these are two examples of people perhaps not reading the room, and irony caught up with them.
