Winter weather caused roads to be slick. At least one person was killed after rolling their vehicle. Authorities said the person was driving too fast for conditions.
REGIONAL – Winter weather across the upper and lower valleys brought rain, freezing rain and even snow. Authorities from several agencies responded to several crashes in along stretches of highways as people headed home at the end of the workday Tuesday. Between Argent Road and Road 68 in Pasco, there were reports of at least four crashes all active at one time along I-182 westbound and eastbound just before 5:30 p.m.
A Benton City woman died after she rolled her vehicle on I-182 in Richland. Authorities said Stephanie Hall-Mullen, 40, of Benton City, was going westbound when she lost control of her car and rolled through the median. The car landed on the right shoulder of the eastbound side.
At one point, the Washington State Patrol was escorting drivers from Kittitas to Vantage due to the slick and dangerous roads. Earlier in the afternoon, I-90 was closed for several hours after a semi crash with other vehicles involved.
