Washington’s Favorite Gas Station & Snack Might Surprise You

Posted on by admin

It’ll probably come as quite the surprise, but not only do we know Washington’s favorite gas station, but also the most purchased snack from gas stations! Is this place on your radar? Is this snack in your belly? Are you reading this while gassing up and eating right now? If you are, stop it; don’t eat while you’re gassing up; that’s gross and can make you sick. Check out the details below.

My Life On The Road

It’s no secret to my friends and family that I love gas stations and quickie marts. I worked graveyards here at the radio station for 9 years, and I worked as a medical courier/driver traveling all over Washington for 13 years. I’ve seen my fair share of the insides of gas stations and have used quite a few pumps across the Evergreen State.

I’m a junk food junkie on the road, especially for gummy bears (any brand) and pepperoni sticks (mainly Oberto), so when I saw the results of this study, I understood Washington’s favorite snack, but I scratched my head at the gas station.

Gassing Up On Google Trends

The fine folks at Hartley Law looked at Google Trends and crunched the data over the past year for 75 national gas stations. By doing so, they were able to figure out each state’s go-to fill-up place, as well as the snack of choice when people are fueling themselves up, as well as their vehicles.

Washington’s Favorite Gas Station Is…

I love my reward points as much as the next person, and that’s probably why Washington’s favorite gas station is Safeway! They’re in many locations, and if you shop in the store, you can get those fuel discounts. We’re not alone; Safeway is the top choice for the weirdos in Oregon, too.

Washington’s Favorite Snack Food…

Above, I mentioned how I enjoy my pepperoni sticks, and I’m not alone (albeit a different brand and type of meat product); Jack Link’s Beef Jerky has a hold of our hearts when we’re on the road. Quite possibly literally if you eat too much while you’re on the road.

In case you’re curious about Oregon, they take a page out of my dad’s playbook and choose Red Vines as their driving snack. I will admit, those make a nice straw for a soda!
