The 2019 fire saw the firefighters team up to fight a battle at the same Cox Pond.
On Monday, deja vu struck again as the Franklin County firefighters engaged with a bonfire that quickly grew to 20 acres.
Luckily, the fire was contained. The smoke plume showed signs of rapid growth in an area with difficult access. So FCFD4 was requested for mutual aid, too.

The frustration for the firefighters is that the fire started from a pallet of wood.
FCFD1 & FCFD4 responded with 20 apparatus and held the fire to approximately 20 acres in a difficult area. A BLM crew assumed command and will watch the area through the night as the wind was stirring ash.
