WA Driver Gets $553 Fine for Snow-Covered Windshield

Posted on by admin

A Washington Driver must pay a  HUGE fine for not clearing their windshield.

I saw the photo all over social media on Monday and couldn’t believe it. Surely this was a joke. But, it’s not. On Sunday, several people called dispatch to report the vehicle traveling erratically on SR 16 in Kitsap County. A WSP Trooper soon pulled the vehicle over.

What was the driver’s excuse for not clearing the windshield?

The driver told the trooper that the windshield wipers weren’t working. After clearing the snow from the vehicle, the driver was issued a $553 ticket for 2nd-degree negligent driving. No one was injured.

WSP Trooper Katharine Weatherwax reminds motorists to clear all snow from the vehicle before getting on the road.

Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.
