MOXEE, Wash. — The US Air Force Band is touring for the first time since the pandemic hit and is making its way through Washington State. Tonight’s stop is at East Valley High School in Moxee.
Flight commander and associate conductor Brandon Hults said they usually do national tours in the fall in the spring, with each tour lasting about two weeks.
“We find different parts of the country and we rotate around and we go to small towns or big halls so that we can connect with the American public for the Air Force,” Hults said.
The concert band and the singing sergeants will perform everything from classical favorites to service songs to Broadway music.
Hults said it’s a way for uniformed service members to connect with people of all ages and his favorite part is talking to people before and after the show, including veterans who attend their performances.
“When we play our service songs, being able to see their faces and their family’s faces in those moments is a very poignant and special thing,” Hults said.

The free performance is open to the public and starts at 7 p.m. in the East Valley High School gymnasium, located at 1900 Beaudry Rd. in Moxee. The next stops on the tour include Seattle, Portland and Eugene.
