Pasco Police are informing the public they are aware of a group of solicitors, who have been making the rounds to homes in what Police said is the Road 68 corridor in West Pasco.
Pasco PD Says They’ve Contacted These “Vendors”
A large number of calls from citizens have come in to the Police Department, about the people who are going door to door selling a ‘magic’ cleaning elixer that is supposed to rid your home of stains and blemishes.
Pasco Officials said some claims from people, via security camera and doorbell videos, that these persons attempt to assault or seize children, are not accurate. They have been investigated.
However, The Solicitors are Breaking the Law
Pasco PD says this group of sales persons are not licensed with the city, any and all door to door sales cannot happen unless the group obtains a permit from the City.
Officers remind the public, IF you do fear for your safety or well-being, do call 9-1-1, but don’t use it to report unlicensed solicitors. Those cases can be called in to non-emergency dispatch. By ordinance, licensed door to door solicitors are told they must display their Official city badge or permit when they make contact with a household.
Pasco, Richland, Kennewick, and most cities have ordinances banning unlicensed door to door sales by businesses. However, if the little kid down the street knocks, and is selling candy bars for a school fund raiser, that’s a little different.
