Tri-Cities-based nonprofit hopes to create regional apprenticeship program

Posted on by admin

RICHLAND, Wash.-A new nonprofit based in the Tri-Cities hopes to create opportunities in the building trades industry for low-income and underserved populations in Central Washington.

Central Washington Building Pathways aims to create an accredited pre-apprenticeship training program to build a new and diverse talent pipeline to the trades according to a press release from the Port of Benton.

The nonprofit will ensure individuals are prepared for formal apprenticeships to replace an aging construction workforce and meet the region’s labor demands according to the press release on its creation.

The nonprofit was established by Union Affiliates of the Central Washington Building Trades Council and other regional partners.
