The Pasco Police Department encourages everyone using the city’s riverfront and shared paths to be courteous and aware of others.

Be Respectful, Move Over When You Encounter Others

The request is rather simple. Share the Path. Pasco Police have issued a reminder for residents enjoying our local paths.

There’s more than enough room for everyone. There are a few more signs along Pasco’s riverfront paths to remind residents to be courteous to others.

This Message Is Especially for Those on Wheels

When riding a bike, slow down around people walking, give them plenty of room, and be prepared to pass safely. In today’s world, many people wear headphones and may not hear a bell or verbal warning, so don’t rely on sound alone, use extra caution, pass only when it’s safe, and make your presence known early.

The Message Is Essentilly About Trail Ettiquette

To prevent collisions and conflicts between pedestrians, cyclists, runners, and others using the paths, there are some things you can do:

• Keep to the right side of the path, escept when passing.
• Cyclists amd faster users should slow down around pedestrians.
• Announce yourself, (for example, “On your left”) before passing.
• Keep pets on a short leash and under control.

Treat everyone with courtesy. The trails are intended to be shared by walkers, runners, cyclists, families, and people using mobility devices.
