This Animal Was NOT So Wise, Got Stuck in Chimney in Pasco

Posted on by admin

Made us think of the The Who song “Who Are You?” with this case.

Pasco Police Find Out ‘Who’ is Trapped in Family Chimney

Last Friday, Officer Jeremy Wakeman responded to a 9-1-1 call from a resident in Pasco, the location was not given, about an ‘intruder’ who had fallen down inside their chimney.

They didn’t specify exactly what kind of intruder until Officer Wakeman got there.

The “intruder” was actually an owl

Despite extensive training in nearly every possible situation an Officer could find themselves in, a owl ‘stuck’ in a chimney is not high on the list.

Officer Wakeman called Blue Mountain Wildlife, who guided Officer Wakeman and a neighbor in how to safely and carefully captured the owl, so it could be released.

The Owl Was Safely Removed From the Chimney

After a short time, the critter was removed from the fireplace, posed for a few pictures, and is now back in the wild, chasing mice and other creatures.

As one person who posted on the Pasco PD Facebook page put it, in the future, hoping the owl finds ‘wiser’ places to visit or roost.
