Sun Lake Campground, Residents Evacuated for Wildfire

The popular Sun Lake Campground and area residents in Grant County have been given Level 3 (Go now!) evacuations orders as of early Monday afternoon.

   Fast-Moving Brush Fire Has Also Closed Part of SR 2 and SR 17

The Coulee City Fire Department and Other Grant County units are joining in the efforts to fight the fire.

Boaters and residents are being asked to avoid the south area of Banks Lake, because aerial units are using it to refill loads that they will dump on the fire.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office issued the alerts about the highways, and reports say Officials are closing SR 17 near Soap Lake to limit traffic.
