For five years, Solgen Power has made a Costco and Walmart shopping trip to stock local food charities with meals for the holiday season.
PASCO, Wash. — For the last five years in a row, Solgen Power has brought a truckload of food to people who need it. This year and last, the solar power providers worked with 2nd Harvest to get that food distributed.
“It’s been a tradition of ours, where we go to Costco and Walmart, and we buy as many turkeys and hams and boxes of mashed potatoes and anything we can find, then we drop it off here,” said Levi Ringo, the Director of Marketing for Solgen Power.
Solgen Power dropped off the truckload of food Wednesday afternoon.
It’s a company that helps people in the community go solar for nothing out of pocket.
They try to give back to the community who gives so much to them, said Ringo.
“Every year at Solgen Power, one of our favorite things we do is we donate a lot of meals to families in need locally to our community,” explained Ringo. “Our community has done a great job of taking care of us over the last years of our company. So, we’d love to find ways that we can give back to the community that’s given us everything.”
Solgen donated more than 200 meals to 2nd Harvest. There was everything from hams and mashed potato supplies, stuffing, pie crusts, brownie mix and more.
“Especially in how crazy times are these days, it’s important to get involved,” said Ringo.
