Rider Dies After Crashing Into Road Sign North Of Spokane

Posted on by admin

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office now says there were some significant factors in the death of a male motorcycle rider north of Spokane on Tuesday evening.

The Rider Was Believed to be Intoxicated

Around 7 PM Deputies and EMS rushed to the intersection of N. Milan Elk Road at E. Eloika Roads, a few miles east of Deer Park and North of Spokane.

When they arrived they learned a single male on his motorcycle had tried to negotiate a sweeping turn at the junction, crossed the centerline into the oncoming lane on the 2-lane road, then slammed into a road sign.

The Rider Was Estimated to Be Traveling at 90 MPH

He was wearing a helmet, but no other protective clothing, despite lifesaving efforts by a few witnesses and then EMS, he sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The SCSO investigation confirmed a witness claim the rider had weaved his way around a few cars and was going 90.

The investigation continues, the SCSO says the name and age of the rider will be released “when it is appropriate.’
