RICHLAND, Wash. — In a matter of days, the George Prout Aquatics Complex will transform into a haunted attraction for anyone to enjoy.
The Ghouls at the Pool Event is back for a second year in a row.
Lori Briere with Richland’s Parks and Recreation said before COVID, the city would put on a fall festival, and they wanted to bring back something similar. Lori said this event combines the festival with something Halloween-themed.
The George Prout Pool and facilities will be decorated to become the Circus of Doom. It runs Friday, October 28th through Saturday the 29th, 6 to 9 PM.
“We will be letting people go through every 15 minutes, and so we have an asylum portion, the clown section and circus section once they exit outside, we’ll have some carnival games set up,” Lori said.
The event is family friendly, and attendees can choose their level of ‘scare’ before making their way through the attraction.
There’s also a bail out point during the haunted house walkthrough if the scares become overwhelming.
After people finish the attraction, they’ll be greeted with fun games, snacks and various opportunities to win a prize from the event’s sponsors. Lori said various local businesses like Frost Me Sweet, Big 5, Miss Tamale, Dairy Queen, Atomic Bowl and Rollarena have donated prizes for participants to potentially win.
Tickets are $2 each and can be purchased online to reserve a time slot. George Prout Pool is located at 1005 Swift Boulevard in Richland.
