Prosser Police Need Your Help After Violent House Party Stabbing

One man is under arrest after a multiple stabbing incident in Prosser, Washington, which sent a 17-year-old to the hospital with critical wounds.

Prosser Stabbing Investigation Continues as Police Seek Witness Videos

Prosser Police issued a press release concerning the incident.

On July 25th, Prosser Police and the Benton County Sheriff’s Department were alerted to a reported stabbing at a residence in the 2400 block of Lee Road.

Teen Hospitalized After Violent Party in Washington Wine Country

A 17-year-old male had sustained multiple stab wounds during a large party.

The victim had already been taken to Prosser Memorial Health Hospital by private vehicle and was later transferred to Kadlec Medical Center in critical condition.

Officers investigated cell phone video coverage and witness reports, allowing for a probable cause warrant for 19-year-old Ruben Mejia of Grandview.

Mejia was later found and arrested near Easy Street at 4:30 AM after an alert citizen called in a report about a suspicious male in the neighborhood.

Mejia was taken into custody and booked into the Benton County Jail for Assault in the First Degree (RCW 9A.36.011).

This remains an active investigation for the Prosser Police and the Benton County Sheriff’s Department, and they are seeking assistance with identifying witnesses and obtaining video footage from the incident.

The 17-year-old stabbing victim’s condition is currently unknown.
