Pot Shop License Fees to Go Up $400 Annually-But There’s More
A slew of new taxes, fees and other costs will go up beginning July 1st. part of the biggest overall tax increases in WA state history.

Engrossed House Bill 2681 sets in motion a $400 annual increase in the pot store license fee, House Bill 1878 increases driver’s license and permit fees, while senate bill 5390 jacked up the cost of the popular Discover recreation WA state park pass.
Other Taxes and Fees, and Removal of Tax Breaks Going Into Effect.
Other increases include Senate bill 6321 removed the sales and use tax exemption for data centers, which will likely result in many such projects being re-routed to other states. There are at least 18 new taxes, removals of tax breaks and other changes to various policies that will increase costs for citizens and businesses.
When pressed where the money will go, many Democratic legislators don’t have specific answers. Although the $400 license renewal fee for pot shops may seem small compared to the profits generated by many stores, it is possible it could results in some price changes—due to other B & O (business and occupation) tax increases.
