RICHLAND, Wash.-A Pasco woman was sentenced to nine years in prison for trafficking rainbow-colored fentanyl pills.
Amy Lynn Loza, 38, must also serve five years of supervised release after she pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of a mixture of a substance containing a detectable amount of fentanyl, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington’s Office.
Investigators with the Tri-Cities Metro Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) looking into several fentanyl traffickers operating in the Tri Cities in Nov. of 2022 developed information that Loza purchased several thousand fentanyl-laced pills.
According to the press release from U.S. Attorney Vanessa Waldref’s Office, agents conducted search warrants at a home in Richland and a bedroom in Kennewick connected to Loza and recovered over 14,000 rainbow- colored fentanyl pills and over a pound of meth.
Agents also located scales, baggies, and drug ledgers belonging to Loza. A loaded firearm was also found at the home in Richland.
Loza then reportedly admitted to investigators that she was involved in trafficking and that she had recently purchased 17,000 pills.
