BASIN CITY, Wash. — A 28-year-old Othello man was brought into custody on Tuesday morning in connection with a string of burglaries and car prowls in Franklin County.
According to a social media notice from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to Basin City for reports that a male subject was seen prowling vehicles in the area.
The victim, who called law enforcement for help, described seeing a man stealing items from inside of her car. There was reason to believe the suspect was still in the area shortly following the theft.

During an investigation, Franklin County authorities developed reason to believe the suspect was comitting several more burglaries in and around Basin City. A brief while later, Franklin County deputies made contact with a male suspect, who was later identified as an Othello resident named Adam Morfin.
He was brought into custody and booked into the Franklin County Corrections Facility on an investigative hold for burglary, theft, vehicle prowl and obstruction. Morfin was also lodged for an outstanding felony warrant issued by the Washington State Department of Corrections for an unrelated issue.
No one was injured during this incident, authorities clarified.
