National Night Out events set around the region this August

TRI-CITIES, Wash.-Several National Night Out events are scheduled around the Mid-Columbia region over the next couple weeks.

National Night Out is a community-building campaign to promote police-community relationships and is an opportunity for residents and law enforcement to interact under positive circumstances, according to the NNO website.

Sunnyside:

Aug. 2: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Free event features safety resources, food, balloon art and a dunk tank.

Kennewick:

Aug. 6: 5 p.m. to 7: 30 p.m. at the Southridge Sports and Events Complex at 2901 Southridge Blvd. Free event features food, KONA ice, knockerball inflatables and Big Top the Clown.

Pasco:

Aug. 6: 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at two locations. Tierra Vida at 3425 E. A Street and the HAPO Center at 6600 Burden Blvd.

Richland:

Aug. 6: 5-7:30 p.m. at Howard Amon Park. Will feature food trucks, activities and displays.

West Richland:

Aug. 6: 5-8 p.m. in Flat Top Park will feature police demonstrations and free food.

Prosser:

Aug. 6: 5:30-9 p.m. at EJ Miller Park will feature free food, games and admittance to aquatic center.

Ellensburg:

Aug. 6: 6-8 p.m. in Memorial Park featuring the Eat with the Heat barbecue.

Cle Elum:

Aug. 6: 5-7 p.m. in Cle Elum City Park. Event will feature food, games and community resources.

Toppenish:

Aug. 6: 6-8 p.m. at Toppenish Pool Park.

Selah:

Aug. 6: 6-8:30 p.m. at Wixson Park. Will feature fun, food and entertainment.

Wapato:

Aug. 6: 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Wapato City Park.

Union Gap:

Aug. 6: 5-7 p.m. at 3607 4th Street

Walla Walla:

Aug. 6: 5-7:30 p.m. in Pioneer Park.
