KENNEWICK, Wash.-Multiple people were hospitalized after an early morning crash between a car and an ambulance on Sept. 23.
The crash happened in the northbound lanes of Steptoe between Gage and Center Parkway and is believed to have happened when the driver of the car fell asleep at the wheel and entered lanes of oncoming traffic, according to Kennewick Police.
People from both cars were transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries, according to a KPD social media post.
The roadway was closed as law enforcement and emergency personnel responded to the crash, however, the road is now open.
