Multiple Agencies Locate, Arrest Goldendale Child Rape Suspect

A massive manhunt north of Goldendale in Klickitat County resulted in the apprehension of a man wanted on child rape and other counts.

   Multiple Agencies Swarmed the Woods

Beginning June 9th, through Thursday the 11th. multiple law enforcement agencies began combing various areas in Klickitat County, looking for the male suspect.

Zackariah Bennett was wanted after an investigation led to him facing the child rape counts as well as illegal weapons possession.  A home near Old Mountain Road was searched, no results, then Officers received a tip he might be near Satus Loop Road.

 Multiple Ground Teams and Drones Scoured Various Areas of the rural County

After multiple searches by ground teams involving US Marshals, the Deputies and US Forest Service, Bennett was spotted walking along Highway 97 and was taken into custody. The general area of his capture is circled in this image:

Authorities did not reveal backround on the case, more information is expected soon. Some of the agencies involved in the search included: (via the KCSO)

• “Klickitat County Prosecutor’s Office, UAS Team, Air Wing, Posse, and 911 Dispatch

• U.S. Marshals

• Yakima County Sheriff’s Office and Yakima Police Department

• Benton County Sheriff’s Office

• Washington State Patrol

• Washington State Parks and the Department of Fish and Wildlife.”
