A week ago, Moses Lake Police arrested a 60-year-old Colville man for his role in a major cash theft.
$50K Found Buried in Town
Mickael Rivera was traveling with the woman, who told investigators she was leaving an unstable domestic situation in Puget Sound. She was traveling with Rivera, and they’d stopped in a Moses Lake hotel Sunday evening.

She heard the door click shut, and discovered Rivera had taken her bag of cash, her “life” savings. Officers later caught up with him and located the bag, but it had less then half the cash, about $40K. This is suspect Rivera.

Now Moses Lake Police Have Located the Rest
Detectives were determined to keep working the case, and despite not getting a lot of details from him, Officers continued to follow the leads they had.
Eventually, after a lot of hot and dusty searching, especially where Rivera thought he might have stashed it, they located the money. It was buried in a field and was entered into evidence in the case. The amount found was said to be near or at $50K.
The investigation continues.
