Moses Lake man shot by home invaders who stole guns

MOSES LAKE, Wash. — Two armed suspects entered a Moses Lake man’s home, shot him in the leg and stole firearms from inside his some on Sunday morning, triggering a countywide investigation.

As announced by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were first informed of a shooting when someone called for help around 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25. They visited the home on the 12000-block of Rd 4 NE and made contact with the 41-year-old victim.

He recounted two men entering the home, shooting him in the leg and stealing several firearms including rifles and pistols. They fled from the scene and have not been publicly identified. It’s unclear whether Grant County investigators have already identified suspects in the case, or if they had prior relations with the victim.

However, the Moses Lake man was treated and released by Samaritan Healthcare following emergency care. No one else was injured during the home invasion, authorities confirmed.

Grant County officials made the following statement in regards to their protocols and investigation into this incident:

For investigative purposes, many details are not released to maintain the investigation’s security. Even though they are not included in an itemized list, all applicable investigative steps are being undertaken by the detectives working on this case.
