KENNEWICK, Wash. — Days after someone allegedly tried to abduct a young girl near a middle school, the local police department has released two photographs of the vehicle they believed to be involved.
On October 19 around 11:45 a.m., a Park Middle School student was contacted by a man in a light blue minivan between Washington St and Garfield St on W 10th Ave, per Kennewick Police Department officials.
Police say that she tried to ignore him and walk past when he allegedly exited the van and tried to follow and coerce her into the vehicle. He is accused of assaulting her in the process, but she was able to escape from the incident unharmed and report it to law enforcement.

Images from nearby security cameras were obtained by detectives from KPD’s Criminal Investigation Division. They show the van they believed to be involved with this case. These detectives hope sharing the image with the community will help them identify the driver or owner of the vehicle to further their investigation.
