Kennewick Police have arrested a suspect accused of attempting to lure a girl into his vehicle.

On Friday, Police found the driver of the light blue mini-van, 28-year old Devin Katsel of Kennewick. At about 2 pm, Katsel was located in the 3300 block of West Kennewick Avenue.

The suspect was taken into custody and arrested without incident. Katsel was booked into the Benton County Jail. He’s accused of Luring and Child Molestation 2nd degree.

On Wednesday, it was reported that the driver of a blue mini van tried to abduct a student walking to Park Middle School. The incident happened at about 11:45 am.

The victim passed a light blue mini-van style vehicle at West 10th Avenue and South Benton Street. The suspect tried engaging the student in conversation. Police say the girl ignored the suspect and kept walking. That’s when Katsel allegedly exited the van. He tried to coerce the girl into the vehicle, assaulting her in the process.

The girl was able to break free and fled the suspect, who returned to the vehicle and left the scene.
