YAKIMA, Wash. — A new coffee shop has opened up on North First Street in Yakima and they’re celebrating their grand opening with deals and events all week long.

Spokane-based Indaba Coffee now has five locations across the state. The company prides itself on getting single source coffee directly from farmers across the world, including Guatemala, Rwanda and Ethiopia.

The new shop has a drive-thru, indoor and outdoor seating, coffee, tea and pastries of all varieties. Indaba Coffee’s motto is love people, love coffee.

“We really want to use coffee as a tool to connect with the community, to not only nerd out about coffee and all the exciting things that come along with that, but also just create a community and really connect with each person,” Yakima store manager Kylee Parkinson said.

Parkinson said they’re celebrating the opening with 50% off of all coffee bar drinks Tuesday through Saturday and  deals on other items throughout the week.

Deals include 10% off retail teas on Tuesday, 20% off retail coffee on Wednesday, 30% off shirts on Thursday and 40% off food items on Friday.

On Saturday, customers will have a chance to win a New Fellow grinder by entering their phone number during checkout. Events include a coffee tasting at 12 p.m., a chance to meet the owners at 6 p.m. and a latte art competition at 7 p.m.

Indaba Coffee is located at 1802 S. 1st St. in Yakima and is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
