Hanford Site gets one-third of new Manhattan Project stamp

Posted on by admin

TRI-CITIES, Wash. – A new three-part stamp was released by the Manhattan Project National Historical Park (NHP) featuring three important locations from the Manhattan Project according to Visit Tri-Cities.

The Hanford Site’s B Reactor is one-third of the stamp. The other two parts feature the Main Gate Park at Los Alamos and the X-10 Graphite Reactor at Oak Ridge.

The three locations helped develop the world’s first atomic bombs during World War II, each of which are currently managed in partnership by the Department of Energy and the National Park Service.

Each site has its own stamp available with Hanford’s being in the site’s Visitor Center. Collectors need to visit each location to complete the stamp.
