Crime Report Shows Declines in a Number of Categories
Via the FBI National Incident Based Reporting System (FNIBRS) Grant County released their crime data and it shows declines, and reflects trends we are seeing in other areas.
Crimes Against Persons
Crimes against persons include murder, rape, assault, and the sub-categories of manslaughter, child rape, sodomy etc. For 2023-2025 there were a total of 7 murders, 2 in 2023, 2 in 2024 and 3 in 2025. Some of the other three year trends include (listed in order of year): all are 2023-2024-2025
- Rape: 12-14-15
- Fondling: 30-16-11
- Aggravated Assault: 62-93-93
- Simple Assault: 368-428-374
Property Crimes
- Robbery: 10-5-6
- Burglary Breaking and Entering: 186-159-94
- Larceny and Theft Offenses: 455-433-280
- Destruction-Damager of Property-Vandalism: 285-300-148
- Motor Vehicle theft: 121-106-77
Drug Related Offenses
- Drug and Narcotic violations 22-53-54
There are a number of other sub-categories, but overall many areas are down. They are seeing increases in drug-related offenses, which represented the largest jump over the three year timespan.
