Sometimes the Washington State Patrol news feed delivers exactly what we all need on a Monday, like criminal goats in a patrol car.
Trooper Rick Johnson out of King County posted probably the best law enforcement story of the weekend, after three dark brown goats with yellow eyes, horns, and collars were apprehended after taking an unauthorized stroll on SR-518 near the airport.
They were, like Trooper Johnson said in his post, being baaaaaaaaad.
The Goats were Arrested, Booked, and Drove Home
These three suspects were not cuffed, tased, or placed in a standard holding cell, but were loaded directly into the back seat of a WSP patrol cruiser and given a complimentary ride home to their owner. They seemed to even go willingly. If I know anything about goats, it is that they do what they want, when they want.
The dark brown, yellow-eyed goats can be seen in photos from the “scene”, sitting in the back seat of a Washington State Patrol cruiser like passengers who have done this before. No remorse. No explanation. Just three goats in a cop car staring directly into the camera like they own the place.
The Bigger Question Nobody Is Asking
How does a goat end up on SR 518 near Sea-Tac Airport on a Saturday morning? Did they escape a nearby property? Were they attempting to catch a flight? Were they protesting something? These are the questions that keep a community up at night.
Trooper Johnson did not explain the motive, and it didn’t look like the goats were talking.
