MESA, Wash. — Four men driving around in Franklin County drew the suspicion of law enforcement and community members alike when they went door-to-door asking to inspect people’s roofs on Thursday night.

According to a social media alert from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, a resident of Mesa, WA contacted the authorities around 7:40 p.m. PST on October 13, 2022 to make a report. This person cites four men in a dark SUV riding around the neighborhood near Peabody Ave & May Ave, offering roof inspections.

The offer confused the resident since it was already nighttime and their motivations were unclear. To make matters more confusing, they appeared to be visiting houses all across the neighborhood, making the same offer.

Although they weren’t able to offer descriptions of all of the men involved, the caller noted that one of them was a white man with dark hair and ear piercings.

This is something that the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office wishes to keep tabs on. Therefore, you could be of big help to them if these men show up at your front door.

If you have any information to contribute or if you are visited by suspects matching this description, you can call the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office’s non-emergency dispatch line at (509) 628-0333 to let them know about the interaction.

This is a developing news story. An update and/or follow-up may be issued if further details are revealed.
