OTHELLO, Wash. — Deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle rollover off the side of Sagehill Rd on the north side of their jurisdiction Sunday morning, only to find the responsible party was clearly drunk.

According to a social media post from the FCSO, deputies were dispatched to the area around 6:50 a.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2022, for reports of a car accident. They rushed to the scene, which was located just north of Sagehill’s intersection with Elbow Rd.

They made contact with a driver and a passenger, each of whom only suffered minor injuries during the collision. However, they immediately suspected that the reason for this rollover was that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Although they didn’t explicitly outline the reasons they believed the substance involved was alcohol, Franklin County deputies seem to be sure that it was a drunk driving incident. The suspect’s identity has not been made public, but they will face potential charges related to driving while under the influence.

One message was clear coming out of this incident, however. Franklin County officials hashtagged “Don’t drink and drive” and “It’s not worth it” at the end of their social media post on this investigation.

This is a developing news story. An update and/or follow-up may be issued if further details are revealed.
