Good Tuesday evening!
For Kittitas County and Yakima County, tonight will be the first significant snowfall since last winter. Temperatures for Yakima and Ellensburg won’t get to above freezing until the late morning, so the commute tomorrow will be filled with snow and slick conditions. In the morning to early afternoon, scattered snow to rain/snow mix could pop up. More scattered snow to rain/snow mix expected through Thursday. Tonight will be the major push of snow.
Timing for Yakima/Ellensburg snow- 7pm to 6am
-1 to 3 inches of snow in Yakima
-3 to 5 inches of snow in Ellensburg
For the Mid-Columbia, south winds should warm things up overnight. If that fails to materialize, the Tri-Cities area could see some rain/snow mix into tomorrow morning. We do expect rain/snow mix to rain overnight into tomorrow morning. Highs in the Mid-Columbia and the Blue Mountain region will be in the lower 40’s.
For all of our areas, we will cool to near the freezing point for our highs into the weekend. We’ll see much drier conditions by then, with a slight chance of snow to rain/snow mix on Saturday.
Be safe on the roads!
