We’ve heard the phrase “this is why we can’t have nice things,” and it usually refers to acts of vandalism.
Someone Used Explosives, Likely Powerful Fireworks, to Destroy Bathroom in Park
Moses Lake Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services is reporting that during what they said were the July 3rd celebrations, fireworks were detonated inside the men’s bathroom, basically destroying the facility. It was the Montlake Park, located at 40q Linden Ave.

The toilets and sink and more were shattered, even blown off the wall. The bathroom will be closed to the public until repairs can be made.
Police Have Begun an Investigation.
The incident has been reported to Police, those who committed the act, if caught, will face the full restitution cost of rebuilding it.
No timetable has been given yet as to how long it will take, or the cost. Other parks, including Connelly Park, have experience previous significant vandalism.
