If you are traveling over the next few days in Eastern Washington, you can expect delays and even closures as several wildfires have engulfed our state.
Wildfires Disrupt Travel Across Eastern Washington: Current Road Closures
Here are some current road conditions from the WSDOT to be aware of if you are on the road near the Tri-Cities:
I-82 is closed between Selah and Ellensburg due to fire activity near the highway. Eastbound traffic is stopped south of Ellensburg at Exit 3 Thrall Road.
Westbound traffic is stopped at Exit 26, five miles north of Yakima. SR 821 Yakima River Canyon is open as a detour route.

Here’s Where Wildfires Are Closing Roads in Eastern Washington Right Now
With other fires burning statewide, here are some other areas that you could see congestion:
Juniper Dunes Fire (Franklin County, northeast of Pasco): road, trail, and area closures are in effect around the fire zone. The Juniper Dunes Wilderness area remains closed to the public.

Twin Sisters Fire (Wallula/Highway 730 area in Walla Walla County): road and area closures remain in effect in portions of the fire area.
Beacon Hill/Upriver Fire (Spokane area): evacuation zones and local road restrictions are affecting access near the fire perimeter.
As you can see, there are several slowdowns in our state. If you are hitting the road, be aware of these conditions.
