Moses Lake Police had an adventure with a driver who decided morning drinking was a good idea.
The Suspect Tried, Among Other Things, Going Off-Road in His Sedan
Around 11AM Monday (June 29) Moses Lake Police responded to a residence on Longview Street, concerning a possible drunk driver.

Officers who arrived tried to contact 46y-year-old Erick Rocha of Moses Lake, but he ignored them and sped off on Beacon to Grape Drive before jumping onto SR-17 (state route). He was driving south in the northbound lanes.
Then He Tried Going Cross-Country
As Officers approached, Rocha decided to ‘exit’ SR-17 and tried to ‘jump’ his 2004 Subaru sedan onto Longview Street Off the highway. But he lacked the power to make it work, and crashed and became stuck.
Rocha then compounded his issues by fleeing on foot, but after being pursued for 3 blocks by a pair of MLPD Officers (who were in far better shape) he was tackled, apprehended, and is now facing a laundry list of charges in the Grant County Jail.
Fortunately no other vehicles or persons were involved or harmed in the incident.
