Driver Speeds of With Gas Nozzle and Pump Attached to Vehicle

Posted on by admin

The Moses Lake Police Department had their share of strange calls over the weekend. They released a montage of some of the calls they responded to Saturday and Sunday.

Roundabout Breaks, Driver Drives Off with Gas Pump, and More

Officers responded to a report of a large bolt laying in the road near Hazard Road and NE Wheeler, and found a portion of the roundabout was ‘in the road.’  The bolt was replace after the missing roundabout ‘parts’ were reinstalled.

Another call came in from a woman, from West Marina Drive, who reported the tires on her vehicle were slashed, and someone had poured sugar in her gas tank. She told MLPD she suspects it was her ex boyfriend, the investigation continues.

This One Kind of Takes the Cake

Sunday morning, around 9:09 AM Officers responded to a gas station-convenience store on North Stratford Road, about a vehicle that had driven off with the refueling hose still attached to their car.  MLPD alerted the Washington State Patrol.

However, as they sped off, the impact not only kept the hose in place, but the pump broke off, and the motorist proceeded to keep going, dragging the hose and the pump with them.  WSP said they located the hose, pump and vehicle, the clerk was able to ID the male driver.  MLPD did not say what happened afterward, as WSP was handling the call.

If that store had video surveillance, pretty sure this incident will turn up on social media soon.
