A Cone Zone Alert warns drivers their commute will be impacted. This closure of one lane on 72nd Ave. will cause significant delays.
YAKIMA – If you take 72nd Avenue north of Tieton Drive, your commute could have significant delays.
Starting Tuesday, November 1, traffic on a section of 72nd Avenue will be down to one lane from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Work crews recommend if drivers use this route during this time, delays could be significant. If possible, drivers should find an alternate route. Access to businesses and emergency vehicles within the project area will be maintained, according to the City of Yakima.
The restrictions are due to a project that will grind and replace the asphalt on that section of 72nd Avenue.
The speed limit through this traffic-related work zone is 20 mph, according to the City of Yakima.
The project time and date could be changed if weather conditions, equipment failure or an emergency in the area is a factor.
