Committee members needed for special election ballot measures in Benton County

BENTON COUNTY, Wash.-Volunteers are needed to form committees to write pro or con statements for ballot measures in the February 2024 special election.

Benton County’s Election Division is seeking volunteers to form committees for the Paterson and Prosser School Districts. The districts proposing measures are responsible for appointing committees to write arguments for and against each measure that will be on a ballot.

Committee members are required to be registered voters of Benton County and be registered to vote in the district they are seeking to be a committee member for, according to Benton County.

Committees needed for 2024 special election:

Paterson School District 50: Pro and con committees needed for a proposed bond to share construction costs for the new Prosser High.Prosser School District 116: Two con committees are needed for the replacement of expiring maintenance, operation, and educational programs levy and a capital levy for safety, security, and infrastructure improvements.

Anyone interested in joining a committee should contact the Benton County Elections Division at 509-736-3085 by 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 21.
