Clarkston Fire Sparks Arson Investigation After Three Homes Burn

A suspected arsonist is under arrest in Clarkston, Washington, after three mobile homes were burnt to the ground on Tuesday night after 6 PM.

In a posting from the Asotin County Fire Department, crews were dispatched to 1650 13th Street, where three manufactured homes were ablaze.

Three Manufactured Homes Destroyed in Clarkston Fire Under Investigation

The first officer on the scene saw that one manufactured home was on fire, with the flames quickly spreading to other homes.

The fire also destroyed two vehicles and heavily damaged a barn located south of the manufactured home park.

Thanks to the quick response from multiple agencies, including the Clarkston Fire Department, Asotin Fire Department, Lewiston Fire Department, and Wheatland Fire District, they managed to contain the large blaze.

Asotin County Fire District #1 Chief Noel Hardin expressed his appreciation for the coordinated efforts of all responding agencies. “I am very thankful for the hard work of all the fire crews working together,” Hardin said. “Temperatures were 95 degrees when crews attacked the fire, and the Valley automatic aid program is invaluable this time of year because the heat takes a toll on firefighters very quickly.”

The firefighters stayed on the scene for over three hours, and one person was arrested on site for suspected arson. Luckily, no one was harmed, and the case is now under investigation
