The good news: the Washington State Department of Transportation has completed one massive project.

After 10 Months of Work, Seattle’s Ship Canal Bridge Is Ready for Traffic

Here are some other facts that might surprise you about the Seattle Ship Canal Bridge:
• Approximately 276 concrete repairs.
• Resurfaced more than 15,400 feet of bridge deck across all four northbound lanes.
• Restriped more than 74,000 feet of lanes and shoulders.
The new construction will extend the life of the bridge for many years to come and the WSDOT says it’s a huge accomplishment in the Revive I-5 project. The lanes are open, and it should be smooth sailing for drivers.
All Northbound lanes are open, but get ready for 2027, as the Southbound lanes will be the next big project for the WSDOT.
