Bateman Island reopens after lightning causes 2.5 acre fire

RICHLAND, Wash.- After a two-and-a-half-acre fire caused its closure, Bateman Island is now reopened and recovering.

The fire was caused by a lightning strike on May 9 and called for multiple crews to tend to the fire for over four hours.

The City of Richland has announced the public can now access the island again.
