Posted on by admin

For months, Seahawk fans have been waiting on the edge of their seats to get more news on who the possible bidders are that might able be to buy the Seattle Seahawks Franchise. It seems that two major groups have risen to the top but there is still time for other possible bidders to make a showing.

Who is in the lead right now?

According to seattletimes.com,
‘Front Office Sports reported that the two remaining groups are the first two publicly identified as being interested in putting in a bid for the team — one group led by Boston Celtics minority owner Aditya Mittal and former Celtics majority owner and current alternate governor Wyc Grousbeck; and the other led by San Francisco 49ers minority owner Vinod Khosla.’

One interested group headed up by Todd Boehly, a co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, was looking to get in the game and thinking about placing a bid, is now out of the running.

Is there another possible bidder?

Front Office Sports also reported that there is the possibly one other potential bidder and that would be Microsoft cofounder Steve Ballmer. Many thought that he might get involved in the bidding process, but he still remains in the background for now.

Bloomberg has reported that the first round of bids was due on June 29th.

Seahawks vice chair Bert Kolde was planning on being in Sun Valley, ID this week to attend the Allen & Company retreat. Allen and Company is a New York firm that was hired by the Seattle Seahawks to assist in the sale.
