It’s not often when a criminal suspect thanks Police for using discretion and “saving their life.”
Wanted Moses Lake Drug and Gun Suspect Arrested
For several weeks the MLPD had been searching for a wanted 43-year-old drug and gun suspect, after serving a search warrant at his residence. Officers said he’d been on the run since.

Wednesday, June 24, Officers who were doing surveillance observed Anthony Stoner getting into a vehicle, then heading to the North Stratford Mini Mart. He was riding in the back seat.
Officers Used Discretion When He Pulled a “Firearm”
Stoner, who refused to exit the vehicle after being contacted, then displayed, but did not point, what appeared to be a handgun in front of Police. The MLPD said his conduct appeared he was trying to get them to shoot him.
However, MLPD Det. Salazar talked with him, and about 15 minutes later, he peacefully gave up. He then thanked Officers for “saving his life.” Turns out the ‘firearm’ was a very realistic-looking BB gun.

Stoner is now in the Grant County Jail on his previous and new drug charges.
