Washington is first in the nation for need-based financial aid

Posted on by admin

OLYMPIA, Wash.-Washington state ranks first in the nation for need-based financial aid for college students, according to the National Association of State Student Grant and Aid Programs (NASSGAP).

“It’s no secret around these parts that we have the best college financial aid in the country, and we’re proud more people are taking notice,” said Washington Governor Jay Inslee.

According to the Washington Student Achievement Council, the Washington College Grant (WA Grant) program is the reason the state is leading the nation in providing aid for students.

WA Grant is guaranteed to eligible students and is available to families making up to 100% of the state’s median family income, which means about half of all Washington families could get money to pay for education beyond high school.

More information on the WA Grant program is available through the WSAC website.
