Veteran and military spouse resume workshop planned for Sept. 11 in Kennewick

KENNEWICK, Wash.-A resume workshop designed for military veterans and spouses is set for Sept. 11 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at WorkSource Columbia Basin.

Job seekers who attend the workshop will be able to work with employers on crafting targeted resumes that showcase applicants skills and experience to increase the chances of getting interviews and landing jobs, according to a press release from the workforce development council.

What will be covered at the employer-led resume workshop.

Resume secrets unveiled: Learn what employers look for in resumes. Discover the elements to make your resume stand out.Crafting compelling cover letters: Get an overview of cover letter writing and learn how to tailor your cover letter for specific jobs.Mastering interviews: Get interview techniques from professionals.Linkedin as your secret weapon: Learn how to build an online presence that attracts employers.Skills transferability: Learn how to translate your skills across different roles.

Resume workshop attendees will also have the opportunity for a personalized resume review.
