These Iconic Bands From OREGON That We Still Love Today

Posted on by admin

I have a few friends who have been talking about finding other places to get things they need/want online besides the typical list, namely Amazon, Walmart, Google Play, and Target.

This lead me to thinking, “I know I can buy stuff on Apple Music, but I wonder if Tower Records is still online?” Guess what? THEY ARE!

Enter Tower Records, stage left.

Do you remember going to Tower Records back in the day? I used to LIVE for going there on the weekends. My only gripe was that the headphones were always broken at the CD listening station. Only one headphone would work!

Washington residents can brag that iconic grunge bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam hail from there. I also love that Quincy Jones, Jimi Hendrix, and even Ray Charles once called Seattle home.

Oregon has a lot to brag about, too. One of my favorite jazz bands, Pink Martini, hail from there. I love Esperanza Spalding, too.

Can you think of some other legendary performers that hail from the Beaver State? We have an assortment of music genres to dig through in the crates, from 60s beach rock to sultry smooth jazz, to underground indie sounds and even more eclectic music!
