
KENNEWICK, Wash.–A Southridge biology teacher is one of six Washington recipients of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.
Rama Devagupta has spent 17 years in the education field, and the last 10 at Southridge, according to a Kennewick School District Facebook post. She has taught Biology, AP Biology and Forensics and has earned recognition for her ‘heart-centered teaching.’
“Reaching this pinnacle of accomplishment makes me aware that I have an elevated platform from which I can work to bring positive change in the field of education,” Devagupta said.
