RICHLAND, Wash.–A collaboration between the National Park Service and REACH Museum will bring an exhibition highlighting Latinos/as in Tri-Cities and their impacts on historical aspects in the community.
‘Migration to Community: Latinos/as at Hanford and the Tri-Cities” will display contributions to the Manhattan Project, according to a REACH Museum press release.
The exhibit highlights how the project recruited Latinos/as to Hanford and their experiences in a segregated society, according to the release. It shows development of a permanent Spanish-speaking community alongside showing the legacy made at Hanford.
The exhibition will be open from Feb. 4–March 22, according to the release. Single ticket entry tickets for adults are $12, and $6 for student, senior and military member tickets. Children 5 and under, and REACH Museum members are free.
Community members are invited to a reception for the exhibit sharing stories of people who built a home for hundreds of thousands of people, the release says.The reception will be held from 5–7 p.m. Feb 7, with a panel discussion at 6:30 led by curator Drew Gamboa.
