QUINCY, Wash. — K9 Edo was deployed to a home in Grant County to bring a wanted man into custody on a variety of outstanding warrants when he allegedly violated a protection order and got involved in a family dispute.
According to a social media notice from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were sent to a home on the 800-block of Road R-Northwest for reports of a domestic altercation dispute at 2:20 p.m. on Sunday, October 30. Upon arrival, deputies developed probable cause to arrest a man named Caiden Stephens for violating a protection order.
However, Grant County authorities detailed that the Grant County man also faced outstanding warrants for second-degree burglary, residential burglary, third-degree malicious mischief, fourth-degree assault-domestic violence, felony harassment and illegally taking someone else’s vehicle.

Before deputies arrived, Stephens allegedly fled from the home to avoid being confronted. That’s when the K9, Edo, was sent in to locate Stephens and bring him into custody. They tracked the suspect across a field to a pumphouse, where authorities asked him to turn himself over without further conflict.
Authorities say he refused to comply with their wishes and Edo was sent in to subdue the suspect. Stephens was brought to the Quincy Valley Medical Center to be evaluated and treated for his interaction with the police dog. He’s since been released from the medical center and lodged in the Grant County Jail.
